Be careful when renting a hotel room

Hidden cameras sometimes emit a small dot of light that is visible on the screen.

· Shine your phone's flashlight over suspicious objects or corners.
Hidden lenses often reflect light, like a small, unusual sparkle.

If you detect anything suspicious, it is best to immediately notify reception and ask to change rooms.

Questionable hygiene: a signal that never deceives

There's nothing worse than a shower that's supposed to relax... but instead reveals a  dirty showerhead or limescale-covered  taps  . It may seem like a small thing, but these small signs often betray a general lack of maintenance.  And if the bathroom is neglected, what about the rest of the room?

The practical reflex  :

Check your faucets, handles, and shower heads as soon as you arrive.
If you notice limescale deposits or persistent dirt, request a room change or even consider another property.

A clean room should inspire confidence at first glance. If it doesn't,  trust your gut .

Why these checks are essential

We often assume that a hotel, especially one with good reviews, guarantees comfort and safety. But a  quick check  can make all the difference between a relaxing stay and a disappointing experience.  A few minutes are all it takes to test the mirrors, inspect the bathroom, and briefly scan the room with your phone.

Traveling is all about creating good memories , not accumulating bad surprises. So it's better to take these  simple precautions , like fastening your seatbelt in a car: a routine action, but one that protects.
